A mana bomb is a cyrstal meant to hold mana that has been overcharged to the point of being unstable. When it makes contact with another source of mana (say a mana shield) it violently explodes with enough force to demolish a stone wall. In Path to Power, these weapons were primarily used by the Black Sun during their seige of Ther'avare to blow a hole in the city's eastern wall.
